yomeru is a browser app for opening .md files without the fuss. It clears away the symbols and lays the contents out at A4 / Letter size. No download, free to use. Your files are processed entirely inside your browser and never sent to a server, so they stay safe.
Drag the .md file you want to read onto the page, or pick one from "Open file". You can also select a folder of .md files and browse through them together.
Your document is previewed at a readable A4 / Letter size, and a clickable table of contents appears down the left (if it is hidden on a narrow window, press to bring it out).
Press "Source" to switch to the editor and change the text. You can then save the .md file back to your computer, either over the original or under a new name.
Saving over the original works only when you opened the file in Chrome or Edge.
Press "Print" and it comes out at A4 / Letter, exactly as shown on screen.
The "Save / Export" button also gives you PDF and Word (.docx).
What Markdown actually is, why the symbols show up, and what to do when you need to print or share the result.
We write about it here.
